Purpose: To evaluate a novel FAIMS device for separation of lipids. Methods: A prototype FAIMS electrode set was coupled with a Thermo Scientific™ Orbitrap Elite™ MS to acquire infusion data for a series of lipids. Results: The new FAIMS device demonstrates excellent transmission in FAIMS ON and OFF modes, can be operated at nanoliter flow rates, and is a promising technique for rapid gas phase separation of lipids.
