This application note discusses an additional, novel approach for rapid screening of dietary supplements via the use of Direct Analysis in Real Time (DART®) ionization. As there is no online sample preparation involved, DART generates large numbers of ions from complex samples. Therefore, when coupled with high-resolution MS, ions of interest may easily be distinguished from those of the matrix and background interferences.
