Untargeted metabolomics offers highly rich and complex information. To complement the discovery metabolomics workflow, a targeted screening approach is increasingly being adopted as it offers greater confidence in the identification and characterization of likely metabolites present in a biological sample. A customizable and versatile method is introduced for the creation and expansion of a metabolite database and MS2 spectral library that can be achieved effortlessly all on a single software platform.
