A quantitative and screening method was developed for nonylphenol ethoxylates and
octophenol ethoxylates in tap water. Baseline separation for each of the ethoxylated units were
achieved and the LC method robustness was showcased through highly reproducible retention
time. Coupled with accurate mass and MS/MS spectral matching, quantitation and
identification of these long chained environmental contaminants are possible, even without
commercially available standards.
