In this study, a Q Exactive MS was evaluated for peptide identification from a yeast total cell lysate. The Q Exactive instrument’s ability to access low-abundance proteins in a complex proteome was investigated. The performance of the Q Exactive instrument was benchmarked against a TripleTOF™ 5600 mass spectrometer (AB Sciex).
