My question is if I want to purifying my samples I have Ectoine and Glutamic acid how can be? I want to use ion exchange chromatography but what we have in the lab is for minerals like zinc and cadmium so can I use the same any advice whichcolumnis good for me??

Hello @Nuha . I just wanted to follow up to see if you still need help with your question? I believe @The_Ion_Lady needed some additional info from you.
Best regards.

Hello Nuha,
Welcome to AnalyteGuru!
Without knowing your instrument, I can only describe what I would do.
Both Ectoine and Glutamic acid are water soluble and they are acids so they will elute using very high basic pH (hydroxide eluent).
If your system is set up to do zinc and cadmium, I am guesting you are using UV-Vis as detection. To analysis those acid, you will need to use conductivity or Electrochemical detection as glutamic acid is an amino acid.
Before I go further down the application, are you trying to purify your samples to get rid of Ectoine and Glutamic acid? Or you just want to monitor the levels of them? If so, what level?
