Have you heard? Thermo Fisher Scientific's Dr. Edward Goucher and team attended the installation and handover ceremony for two TSQ Quantis Ultra Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) systems at Sheffield Northern General NHS Trust, implementing innovative technologies to address key challenges faced today in clinical research and diagnostics.

Dr. Goucher states, "The past decade has seen significant improvements in the development of mass spectrometers and front-ends solutions, in particular chromatography. And our customers and collaborators have been using various MS platforms for many years to solve several critical issues. While the list continues to grow, the requirements and expectations from our users will streamline the future evolution of this technology."

He continues, "The clinical landscape requires versatile instrumentation that enables the analysis of many types of analytes – from disease biomarkers to anti-inflammatory drugs and toxicology – while providing robust, sensitive and time-saving solutions. MS capabilities need to be suitable for every lab environment."

Furthermore, "Our key areas of innovation are geared toward greater flexibility and assurance by streamlining software integration and compatibility across the instruments, minimizing hands-on time with automation (sample to result) and leveraging our best-in-class multichannel high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) portfolio, which helps reduce time-to-result and maintains and improves analytical performance of your workflows."
