"I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are."
I think that’s why I feel so at home there...that, and the delicious food of course...
Never before have I had such a challenging and exciting job. But the word ‘job’ doesn’t do it justice. It’s more than just a job; it’s a way of life. The biopharmaceutical market is moving at an unprecedented pace, and the competition between technology providers and drug manufacturers and their associated companies in researching, discovering, developing and manufacturing these revolutionary therapies is fierce. New drug approvals are being fast-forwarded, the regulations are constantly changing and evolving, drug pricing and naming wars are breaking out, patents are expiring, biosimilars are evolving into biobetters, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and bi-specifics, the move to continuous bioprocessing is on the horizon...and so much more that my head may explode.
My day usually starts with me being poked in the eye by my two-year old son, followed by a check-in of what’s new in the world of pharma and biopharma (yes, it really does change overnight sometimes). How do I do that, you may wonder? Well, I’ve signed up to around a thousand mailing lists, just so I don’t miss anything. I am on all the social networks, just in case anyone drops a #biopharma, and I scour the internet. Of course, I speak to my colleagues and to customers regularly too, and I chide myself when I find out something new and important, wondering how I could possibly have missed it.
There must be more efficient ways of staying ahead...
Do you, like me, ever feel like you can’t keep up? You want to be on top of your game but you can’t find the time to read every article, click on every link and browse every web page – that’s where BioPharMoore could help. Think of it as a one-stop shop for the latest news and insights; stay in tune with what’s new, what’s going on, who said what and how to do it. I aim to provide event updates, industry insights from our customers, how-to guides, market and regulatory updates... and a bit of fun along the way. I know it won’t be the answer to all of your questions, but hopefully it will help.
Do you have a bio/pharma-related question that you would like me to answer or investigate? Do you have an analytical challenge that you’d like some help in solving? Let me know and maybe we can help each other to stay ahead in bio/pharma!
I look forwards to hearing from you! @BioPharMoore #BioPharMoore on Twitter.
