Pittcon Day 3It’s another beautiful day here in Atlanta and the Thermo Fisher Scientific booth (#2239) is bustling! Today, my fellow scientists and I were talking about how exciting it is to be a part of the world of biopharma and experience firsthand the latest drug developments and therapies that help make the world a better and healthier place. But we know how challenging this all can be!

Biomolecules are challenging to characterize and quantitate, which means we need more comprehensive and user-friendly instruments that can help scientists develop safe and effective drugs, faster. Here at Pittcon 2016, we’re sharing the analytical workflows that enable scientists to gather more information about novel therapeutics, earlier in the development process.

Scientists who visited the booth today saw the new Vanquish Flex UHPLC System which delivers exceptional performance and reliable separations with the flexibility labs require when developing methods ranging from high-throughput analyses to pharmaceutical quality control applications. This system is designed for high speed, resolution and sensitivity, allowing researchers who perform biopharmaceutical analyses to get high-quality and consistent data with mix and match modules.

Also featured is the SMART Digest Kit. This protein digestion kit is designed for biopharmaceutical applications that require highly reproducible, sensitive and fast bottom-up analysis of proteins in high-throughput workflows.

The MAbPac RP column is for the analytical chemists requiring high-resolution separation of intact proteins, such as monoclonal antibody (mAb) variants, antibody drug conjugates (ADCs), as well as those conducting high-resolution mass spectrometric analysis of mAbs and mAb fragments for upstream biopharmaceutical development. And I can’t forget the software! The new BioPharma Finder software is designed to ensure consistency and quality throughout the batch/lot comparison process.

So many exciting things happening this week! One more day to go!
