Hello, HPLC 2022!

After a three-year hiatus, the HPLC conference is back and marks the 50th International Symposium and Exposition on High Performance Liquid Phase Separations and Related Techniques.

This year’s meeting is in sunny San Diego, California, from June 18-23 at the Town and Country Hotel and Conference Center.

And yes, I’m already thinking about those tasty fish tacos you can find at the local restaurants in the Gaslamp Quarter — shout out to all my seafood lovers out there!

Besides enjoying the delectable cuisine and idyllic scenery, you’ll have the opportunity to mingle with other liquid chromatographers worldwide and learn the latest trends in emerging areas like column technologies, multidimensional LC, gene therapy, mass spectrometry, software, and the list goes on.

Thermo Fisher Scientific will be there, serving up the latest and greatest innovations in separation science. Here’s a quick rundown of all the event dates and details to know:

  1. HPLC Tube Contest – Monday, June 20

Thermo Fisher Scientific is sponsoring the HPLC Tube Contest. Applicant submissions must be videos detailing how their chromatography makes a difference in the world. An international jury, including our very own Dr. Frank Steiner, will select the top videos for the final round.

The video submissions are already closed, but you can still join us for a happy hour where we’ll announce the winners and take notes if you want to participate in future contests.

And who knows, there might even be some umbrella cocktails.

  1. Vendor workshops – Monday, June 20 and Tuesday, June 21

The recent explosion of mRNA research applied to gene therapy and precision medicine is a hot topic and, in my opinion, the future of medicine.

Thermo Fisher Scientific is hosting two separate vendor workshops at the conference:

  • Tuesday, join us as Jacob Fairchild from Moderna talks about the emerging role of HPLC in mRNA analysis

Whether you’re looking to expand your HPLC skillset or want to come to learn some new science, we have a place for you. We will provide lunch, and (winky face) there’s only one way to find out if there will be fish tacos.

All you need to do is register online here to reserve your seat.

Hurry because spots are filling up fast!

  1. Oral presentations and posters

Adding to our list of knowledge to share, we have a series of talks and posters planned:

Check out our complete list of oral presentations and posters here.

  1. Instrument displays – Booth 401

So come by our booth to meet our team and see our chromatography instruments, columns and software display. Rumor has it that our new Thermo Scientific™ Vanquish™ Neo UHPLC system will be there, among other stars.

I can’t promise you we’ll hand out mini fish tacos on a platter, but we’ll certainly have plenty of instrument eye candy for you, plus Charlie, too.

P.S. Booth selfies with your favorite instruments are highly encouraged — make sure to tell them Dr. Kimberly sent you 😊
